Councillor calls for urgent action over recycling centre traffic congestion at Saltash
Mebyon Kernow's Cornwall Councillor for Callington, and Prospective Parliamentary Candidate for South East Cornwall has made the request following several reports of congestion at the Household Waste Recycling Centre (HWRC) centre on Tamar View Industrial Estate in Saltash.

"The queueing for the HWRC has always been an issue but, added with the traffic using the two retail units in the same estate, queues are now regularly stretching out on to the A388 and have, at times, caused problems on the main A38 trunk road. This is becoming a real problem and the proposed Broadmoor Farm development which could add considerably to the traffic using the A388 it is an issue that needs to be dealt with now." said Cllr Long.

"It is important that the site is looked at afresh and proposals for either increasing the vehicles on site, or extending the opening hours, are considered urgently, before more development in the area takes place." he added.

The HWRC in Saltash is currently open from 9am to 4pm every day and access is controlled by Cornwall Council staff.
