Mebyon Kernow Opposes Privatisation of Royal Mail
Mebyon Kernow – the Party for Cornwall has condemned the decision of the Conservative and Liberal Democrat Coalition to privatise the Royal Mail.

MK believes that this unwanted sell-off could mean the end of a universal postal service, which could be particularly damaging to rural areas.
Speaking on behalf of MK, economy spokesman Cllr Andrew Long said:
“The Royal Mail is a vital service for all communities and Mebyon Kernow opposes this privatisation, which will undoubtedly undermine the extent of the present postal service.
“It will also mean that local people will be failed by the very services that are meant to serve them.
“The sell-off of the postal service could also be particularly damaging to rural communities, which are already reeling from the devastating cuts being imposed by the Coalition.
“It is the view of Mebyon Kernow that the Royal Mail needs to remain as part of the infrastructure of the UK.”
